Todd Akin now says he misspoke when he made his rape comments.
My question to him is this. If you misspoke, as you claim, then what was it you intended to say?
Because in my book misspeaking is intending to say one thing but slightly garbling or scrambling the delivery. So if I was intending to watch baseball on TV, but I said I was going to watch ballet, well, then I misspoke. (Nothing against ballet, by the way.)
You didn’t misspeak, Todd. You said something stupid (to put it mildly) that you apparently believe to be true.
