Follow policy. Neat idea. Here’s mine:
I will follow almost anyone who looks serious about maintaining their blog. Though I prefer original content, I do not care if you are a serial reblogger. I get as much of a feel for the person by one’s reblogs as by one’s original content. However, I am not interested in commercial or corporate blogs. Only individual persons.
I almost never unfollow. I enjoy diversity— of opinion, political positioning, life experience, struggles, triumphs, stupid opinions, smart opinions, whatever— and unfollowing because of some turgid or knuckleheaded posting would seem to me to be counter productive. We all have our good and bad days, and a blog should be a rough draft of real human experience and not a plasticized finished product.
[Edit: Changing the Unfollow policy. If you are just too juvenile, if you constantly complain about what your circle of bloggers (the followed and the followers) are posting, then I’ll probably cut you loose. Honestly, these things are personal blogs, not Supreme Court decisions.
Also, if you harass people who are blogging about life or health issues, I’ll unfollow your ass. Nobody who’s dealing with shit like that wants to hear your insipid little opinion about how legitimate or illegitimate their concerns are. You know who you are.
End Edit]
To that end, I welcome any offers to follow and be followed.
If you post your problems, know that I have a sometimes annoying tendency to try to post a solution. Don’t take offense. I mean well.
